San Diego Wage & Hour Lawyers
Helping Our Clients Achieve Their Legal Goals
In the state of California, being fairly employed and being compensated appropriately is one of the most important issues for anyone in the workplace. After all, you dedicate the majority of your time, skills, talent, and labor to representing your company or business of employment. However, your employer might have failed in giving you the correct payment for overtime, or withheld bonuses and commissions which are rightfully yours. They might have even demanded you to work during your breaks or meal times, without offering you the correct compensation.
Fortunately, there is a solution if you have been a victim of such maltreatment at your workplace. Our zealous San Diego wage and hour attorneys are ready and waiting to defend your rights in court. Trust Kennard Law, P.C. to represent you against illegal wage violations, no matter how big the corporation or company is.
Types of Employee Compensation Claims We Handle
When it comes to defending you against violations in your workplace, you can trust the experience of our knowledgeable attorneys. We have had great success in representing both individuals and entire groups of employees who have been unjustly treated in a whole variety of industries.
Just some examples of these workplaces which have committed malpractice against employees have included:
- Insurance companies
- Retail and commission businesses
- Health care practices
- Manufacturing and assembly lines
- Restaurants and cafes
- Financial service companies
- Hotels and hospitality services
- High technology corporations
- Educational organizations
Not only are we able to represent employees who have been paid both hourly wages or salaries, but we have become especially adept at identifying which occupations, roles, and industries have become notorious for unfairly compensating their employees. We are also highly experienced at identifying other violations of California and federal wage laws, and finding cases where employees have not been fairly reimbursed for overtime, payroll errors, improper vacation time omissions, family leave, or forced work during meal and rest breaks.
Minimum Wage Standards in California
As of January 1, 2020, the minimum standard wages have changed in the state of California. According to the information provided by the State of California Department of Industrial Relations, all employers who have exactly 25 employees or less are required to pay at least $12.00 per hour. However, if employers have 26 employees or more, they are required to pay $13.00 an hour as a minimum wage. Those who violate this law must take account of their actions for depriving you of your rightful pay.
